Maybe it’s the constraint of having to work within those tiny diary squares,
but I’ve started to lose interest in keeping an art diary.
When I look at the drawings in other people’s diaries,
I often see cups, coffee pots, animal faces, plants, or food illustrations.
But since I prefer expressive artwork,
I’m not really interested in drawing things with clearly defined outlines.
And when I use materials that don’t produce sharp lines,
those small diary spaces feel even more limiting.
It’s not like my drawings are incredibly original…
but I think I’ve made a fair amount of small drawings in the way I wanted.
Now, I feel like drawing more freely on large sheets of paper.

I sometimes feel like redrawing those small art diary pieces onto large sheets of paper.
Parts I couldn’t draw because of the limited space…
or starting from them and adding new elements in different ways. (Like I mentioned earlier.)
I used to think about doing collage work, but right now, that doesn’t feel quite right.
What I really want is to feel the touch of pencil tips or brushstrokes against the paper.

I took out my watercolor paints for the first time in a while.:-)

“That day, I felt at ease — all the repetitive tasks I’d been doing for so long,
like Etsy listing work,
retouching the same photos again and again,
rewriting the product descriptions over and over…
they were finally done. (ㅠㅁㅠ)

So I ended up drawing in my art journal too…

Also I tried to stay focused on my work.
Even now,
my Etsy and Marpple Shop still lack a lot,
but that’s just because I’m still a work in progress myself.
I feel like I’ve done the best I could for who I am today.
Maybe later…
when I’ve improved a bit,
I’ll go back and make some updates.
(Please don’t…)

Back then, it was dry, with no rain at all,
and unbearably hot — cooking felt nearly impossible…
And now? Rain, you can take a break now.

A summer studio…

With these vegetables, we’ve finally finished everything the landlord had planted.
He said he’s planted more again — but they’ll need time to grow.:-)

In the evening, the ground still holds on to the heat from the day,
so lately I’ve been heading out for a walk right after breakfast.
I used to do slow jogging in place at home for a while,
but being outside—seeing sunlight, trees, and feeling the breeze—
brings me emotional peace.
So I stopped.

Tuna with ssamjang and rice.

Summer walkscapes… :)

I really love oil pastels.
At first, I liked them for how convenient they were, but over time,
I’ve grown more curious and want to explore them more deeply.”

My everyday strolls…

I also really like pencils.
Colored pencils, strangely enough, don’t seem to suit my personality very well.
So whenever I use them, I always pair them with other materials.

I want to move beyond only drawing what I feel like — I want to study, to explore, to learn.
There are things I can only do now, in this moment,
and I don’t want to miss them. :)
Let’s keep going!”
